The Art of Eric Basaldua- Too Hot To Handle!

From his work with Top Cow to his hot covers from Zenescope, Eric Basaldua's work has been nothing but HOT!!! With a pencil and a Copic marker Eric is able to transform a blank sheet of paper into a thing of stunning beauty.

His work at Zenescope has brought new life to old fairy tales like Alice in Wonderland and Neverland.
His obvious love of the female form comes through in every drawing but its the dynamic energy of his work that makes every draw POP.

Todd McFarlane Still Rolling!!!

In the late 80's Todd McFarlane made his way on to the scene with his run on Amazing Spider-man and then sifted his fame to Image comics in 1992 with Spawn.  Twenty years and 200 issues of Spawn later and Todd is still rolling hard. Not only does he still create and work on comics (Spawn and Haunt), he also has a hugely successful toy line. To add to his success, Spawn was made into a Cartoon and major motion picture.

Todd's Spawn and Eric Larsen's Savage Dragon are the only two titles left from Image's original titles.  Spawn has gone through some changes through the years but McFarlane still stays true to his original creation.  The quality of the book has never suffered despite changes through out the 200+ issues and McFarlane has never "Re-booted" or a remade Spawn.

Creators come and go...comics get canceled...Lines get re-booted..But Todd and Spawn keep climbing.

Greg Capullo: One of Comics Greatest Storytellers

There are many great comic artists out there but one of the best is Gregg Capullo.
Greg hit it big many years ago at Marvel with a very successful run on X-Force and then moved to Image Comic's Spawn.  Despite it being McFarlane's creation, Greg made Spawn what it is today. His bold and individual style bring a uniqueness to any book that he touches.

He has carried on this quality to DC's Batman with writer Scott Snyder.  I am not a big fan of DC's reboot with "52" but this is the best I have seen Batman look in a long time. The storytelling is tight and jumps off every page. When you read through the book you feel like you are watching a movie.  His work pours off the pages. The characters pull you in. The first three issue of the first story arc are out at you local comic store. The book is an "A" in my opinion...check it out!

Frank Miller in the News!

Frank Miller's commentary on Occupy Wall Street has been the talk around the net. I dont know if he has gone to far or not with his opinion but its damn entertaining....Check it out...

The “Occupy” movement, whether displaying itself on Wall Street or in the streets of Oakland (which has, with unspeakable cowardice, embraced it) is anything but an exercise of our blessed First Amendment. “Occupy” is nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and rapists, an unruly mob, fed by Woodstock-era nostalgia and putrid false righteousness. These clowns can do nothing but harm America.

“Occupy” is nothing short of a clumsy, poorly-expressed attempt at anarchy, to the extent that the “movement” – HAH! Some “movement”, except if the word “bowel” is attached - is anything more than an ugly fashion statement by a bunch of iPhone, iPad wielding spoiled brats who should stop getting in the way of working people and find jobs for themselves.

This is no popular uprising. This is garbage. And goodness knows they’re spewing their garbage – both politically and physically – every which way they can find.

Wake up, pond scum. America is at war against a ruthless enemy.

Maybe, between bouts of self-pity and all the other tasty tidbits of narcissism you’ve been served up in your sheltered, comfy little worlds, you’ve heard terms like al-Qaeda and Islamicism.

And this enemy of mine — not of yours, apparently - must be getting a dark chuckle, if not an outright horselaugh - out of your vain, childish, self-destructive spectacle.

In the name of decency, go home to your parents, you losers. Go back to your mommas’ basements and play with your Lords Of Warcraft.

Or better yet, enlist for the real thing. Maybe our military could whip some of you into shape.

They might not let you babies keep your iPhones, though. Try to soldier on.

Schmucks.
