News: Transformers 4, Knight's Tale, Avengers 2, and Guardians of the Galaxy

-Thanos will be the villain in Avengers 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

 

 

                  -Plans are in the works for a Knight's Tale TV show based on the Heath Ledge movie.

                -The fourth Transformers film which hits cinemas June 27th, 2014 will be darker and
               involve less human characters and more Transformers.  The film is rumored to have a whole
              brand new cast of robots and humans.

New York Comic Con is Coming!!!

In less then a month the East Coast's biggest Comic Con hits NYC!! Hundreds of creators, row after row of dealers, Dozens of entrainment personalities, and thousands of comic geeks!!!   There are tons of other local Comic Cons but he NYCC is the Grand Daddy of all Cons. Stay tuned for more reports about NYCC and live reports from the Con floor...

R.I.P. Joe Kubert

 Joe Kubert, a groundbreaking comic artist and educator, has died at 85.

Kubert, who co-created DC Comics' iconic Sgt. Rock character and Tor, and reinvigorated Hawkman, died Sunday, according to The Kubert School, which he founded in 1976 with his wife to train illustrators and artists.

His two sons, Andy and Adam, will carry on his legacy.

The Return of Cyberforce!!

Marc Silvestri and Cyberforce are back...I cant believe its been 20 yrs since I went into my local comic shop and picked up my first Cyberforce comic and now this October it returns!

The unique thing about this return is that it will be using Kickstarter to help fund the project to make the first five issues (to be published monthly) available for free, both digitally and in print.
Joining Silvestri on the new series is interior artist Khoi Pham. Joining Khoi will be Co-writer and Top Cow President Matt Hawkins (THINK TANK, THE TEST) will utilize his background in science to lead the series in a never-before-seen direction.

I have to say I miss the early days at Image and I hope this series will help bring that excitement back!

Jack Kirby -Still The King!!

Today's comic artist, like Jim Lee, John Romita Jr., David Finch, Greg Capullo and so on, would be absolutely no where without the mind and creative force that was Jack Kirby.  Every page he drew had action that jumped off the page. His art was so dynamic that you could almost read the book without the words, like a silent movie. His work has always been the standard and goal for all artists in the industries.

Movie Theater Shooting in Aurora Colorado

July 20th will be a day most people in Aurora Colorado will soon forget. At a midnight showing of Batman the Dark Knight 12 people were killed and 58 wounded in a shooting spree. 

The suspect, identified by law enforcement officials as James Egan Holmes, 24, is in police custody. Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates said authorities are "confident" that Holmes — who was clad in all black clothing and wore body armor — acted alone and used an AR-15 assault rifle, a shotgun and a .40-caliber handgun in the attack. Another handgun was also found in his car, which was parked outside of the theater.

A witness told CNN: "We heard anywhere from 10 to 20 shots and little explosions going on. Shortly after that we heard people screaming. Then they came on PA system and said everyone needed to get out. As soon as we got out, there were people running around and screaming."

A tragedy like this makes you think about how short and precious life is.  You never know if that trip to the grocery store or dinner out or a afternoon in the park could be your last.  We all need to stop worrying about the trivial things in life and enjoy what time we have on the planet.
